Final Review — Should You Read "Alien Magic"?

Final Review — Should You Read "Alien Magic"?

The short version: if you like cyberpunk with a genuine sci-fi mystery underneath the neon, Alien Magic by William Benjamin delivers.

What worked for me:

  • A fully-realized, sensory world (Cybers and Neo-Tokyo both feel distinct)

  • The "vape dust" concept — a fresh, original piece of world-building that isn't just decoration, it's plot-relevant

  • Multiple character POVs (Ryan, Synapse, Rissa, Jenna) that each show a different angle on the same tech-soaked world

  • A mystery (the Seraphim, the alien energy source) that builds patiently and pays off by the end

Best for: readers who enjoy cyberpunk noir, tech-forward sci-fi, and stories that ask human-vs-machine questions through character rather than exposition.

Rating: A solid, atmospheric read — recommended if the genre is your thing.
